Joint and Several Liability

Joint and several liability means two or more parties are together responsible for an obligation, but each individual party can also be held responsible for the full amount. This gives the creditor stronger legal protection because recovery can be made from any one of the liable parties. It is common in partnerships, guarantees, and certain legal claims.
