Imputed Cost

An imputed cost is a notional or assumed cost that does not involve an actual cash payment but is considered for decision-making purposes. A common example is the opportunity cost of using owner-owned property for business instead of renting it out. These costs may not appear in financial books, but they are very useful in management analysis.
