Incremental Cost

Incremental cost is the additional cost that arises when one extra unit is produced or when a specific decision leads to extra spending. It is important in management decisions such as pricing, outsourcing, expansion, or accepting a special order. Only the extra cost caused by that decision is considered, not the total existing cost base.
